Building a Community

Question

What kind of Community can a doughnut brand build? I've thought of building around "friendship" but I'm not sure it's something that members will stick around for long.  Please help with suggestions!

This is such an interesting problem, Martha. A community around "Doughtnuts" seems so much fun, but also challenging in many ways. Thanks for putting it out here and letting us participate.   From my experience, friendships are a byproduct of the interactions that your community enables. I would suggest a community for people who are interesting in making doughnuts. This could extend to sharing recipes, discovering new places and recommending new kinds of doughnuts. Build your community around content that helps members understand doughnuts better (different types of doughnuts, recipes that they can try at home, bake vs fry).   Even in terms of in-person events, you could go on a city tour trying new doughnuts, cook together or organise a masterclass.
