Are community guidelines necessary?

The last thing we ever want to do is nag our community members to follow the guidelines of our community platform. And yet, it's sometimes necessary to remind people of our expectations.

So I have always wondered if it is necessary to have community guidelines for my community and impose on members to follow them?

Good question Jenna. I think community guidelines are the best way to establish some amount of ground rules for members. So they know the kind of community they are into, the morals and values that are expected. Guidelines help keep the community unde check, avoid wrong practices and also make members feel safer. Creating a safe space is so important for any community.
