Have you tried any methods to read professional books faster and memorize information better?

On the same note, I am reading a lot of books on community building lately but the information becomes overwhelming at times.  How you'll are retaining the info consumed?

Two things I always do when I'm reading a professional book: 1) I take notes in NotePlan 3, any quotes or general ideas I want to remember, and 2) if there's something actionable I want to try, I immediately add it as a task in my to do list. I find that if I can immediately apply something, it really helps to cement the idea!
